Description

Optimized for Sun Microsystems SBus servers, the LightPulse™ LP8000S Fibre Channel SBus host adapter provides the flexibility and broad interoperability needed for complex highly scalable SANs.

The LP8000S also features sophisticated hardware that provides superior performance in storage area networks,delivering low latency and high throughput in switched, arbitrated loop and clustered environments. The LP8000S is available with a short-wave optic interface.

Common hardware/firmware is used for the PCI-based LP8000 and the LP8000s, providing a uniform feature set across all Sun platforms.

The LP8000S host adapter delivers exceptional performance through the use of Emulex’s Dragonfly ASIC, a 266 MIPs on-board processor and state of the art dual-ported buffer memory. The LP8000S includes sophisticated capabilities such as full-duplex data transfers, full fabric support, parity protection and large data buffers.

Driver Support |

The LightPulse™ LP8000S is complemented by robust software support including multi-protocol (SCSI & IP) operation, enabling advanced storage area network (SAN) implementations in Solaris environments. The LP8000S Solaris driver shares a common sourcebase with drivers for the Emulex LP9002L, LP9000, LP8000 and LP7000E PCI host bus adapters, allowing a common look and feel across seperate hardware platforms.
